It’s hard to fit everything Cathy is inside a few words. It’s hard to try and describe her dedication, love and discipline to the craft of acting. It’s even harder to meet Cathryn Sullivan and not have your life and skills be changed drastically for the better. Cathryn is a force of nature. She exudes a powerful energy that both lights up a room and instantly brings respect and authority. Her laugh is one of the most healing sounds I’ve ever heard. Her knowledge, insight and passion is unmatched. The beautiful thing about my experience at Cathryn’s was as much as I knew she cared about my acting, she cared about me more. She cares about her students. Authentically. Then from a place of love and trust, reaches in and transforms their acting ability from the inside out. Once you’re one of Cathy’s kids, you’re hers for life.
- DEVIN WAY ("Grey's Anatomy")
Cathy,
"Thank you. Thank you is much too small a word for all you’ve done for me. You facilitated my growth since I was a kid. You always supported me, and showed me how to connect to characters and portray them in the most realistic ways. You showed me how to bring depth and honesty to my work through meticulous listening and reacting. The opportunities you provided me and all your students in the form of seminars gave me access to my entire team. I could not be where I am today without you. There is no better place to train than with you and your staff at the best acting studio in the world: Cathryn Sullivan’s Acting for film".
- Jaren Lewison ("Never Have I Ever")
"A Blessing - the only thing I can say to describe Cathryn and her studio. She pours herself into each and every one of her students with so much love and compassion. She truly cares about our dreams, goals, and success. But most importantly, she makes sure we have the tools we need to reach our goals, and genuinely wants us to be successful. I was fortunate enough to meet Cathryn at the age of 5, and work with her for 13 years. For that Ms. Cathryn, I am forever grateful. Thank you. I love you.”
- Ashley Nicole Williams
Hi Cathy! Just want to say thank you for giving Jaren the opportunity to speak today about his acting experiences. (Thankfully I was able to watch on my phone with WiFi turned off since we still don’t have internet!). That was surreal for me as his mom especially knowing the road he took to get to this point. I just love how you are always giving these actors a forum to learn whether from you, from an aide, or from one another. I believe in the value of training because it’s the only way to produce growth, and boy has Jaren grown as an actor. So grateful for the years he spent at your studio!
-Jaren Lewison's Mom - 4/10/2020
Cathy,
Thank you for all you do and sacrifice for our kiddos! You give them everything you've got and you don't hold back when it comes to telling them the truth about themselves and their performances. My son is not only growing as an actor, which is great, but he's growing into an amazing young man and that's even better. You're teaching them way more than acting and I will forever be grateful to you for that!! God bless you! You and the studio are always in my prayer!
Brenda Grant (Edison's Mom)
Shaun, Cathy, and Jared - what a night!! I am sad I did not get to see you after to share how terrific the movies were and what a wonderful experience it was. I cannot really put into words the appreciation I feel for your time, patience, and commitment to this project. I know it was bigger than imagined but I hope the payoff was even greater for y’all. Shaun, thanks for helping me get upstairs and I appreciate everyone helping to ensure that I could see Grace on the big screen along with everyone else. Cathy, please tell Ben thanks for his help, too, and thank you for thoughtfully considering where to seat us and with whom. It means so much! My parents loved being able to be there and it was a real treat for my dad to see it all come together as well. It was so thoughtful of you to invite the pastor’s family. My mom and dad enjoyed visiting with them and his wife told my mom it meant so much. We feel blessed that Grace gets to learn from such wonderful people about how to live life on camera and off. Thanks again for being such great mentors to these kids. Your influence will impact them forever! God bless!
-Shannan Martin (Grace's mom)
Dear Cathryn,
Thank you for taking the time today to run a parents meeting. I enjoyed listening and learning! And I absolutely loved your advice about listen to your heart as it will tell you what to do. That really spoke to me!
Brooklyn is just starting her journey in Film 1, but already is loving it! Her dream is to be an actress and we feel so incredibly blessed to be a part of your amazing studio.
Her excitement this week coupled with how pumped up I felt after the parents meeting has got us feeling so positive, motivated, and empowered. Thank you again!
Sincerely,
Angela Bissett
Cathy,
I just emailed Cody a huge Thank You. The first audition Katie had after his Improv Class required her to pretend to eat spaghetti. She got the job! Katie said Cody's class helped her get the part. :)
Thank you!
JENNY GONZALEZ
Cathy,
Hey Cathryn this week has been a dream. I can’t even begin to explain it to you. I sit here in tears of joy and I just wanted to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for being a part of my journey. You play such a HUGE role in it. From, not only helping me grow as an actress but as a freakin human being. The confidence I have walking into rooms or meets now would not be possible without you by my side. You never stopped believing in me even when I got discouraged and wanted to quit. You were right there to pick me back up and get me on my grind again. You always tell your students to “stay patient your time will come” and as someone who loves it so much and wants it to happen, it’s hard to listen at first and you try and rush things and make them work when you’re not ready and it just doesn’t work that way. If there’s one lesson you’ve taught me (which is a lot ) it’s to have patience. If it wasn’t for that constant reminder I would’ve thrown the towel in a long time ago and never would’ve gotten to where I am now and this is just the beginning ! I can’t wait to share the rest of my journey with you ! I love you so much!
LISANDRA ORTEGA
Cathy,
I just wanted to email you and mention how much I appreciated your intensive seminar this weekend, Cody. I'm sorry I couldn't stay longer afterwards to chat and such but I wanted to say how much I learned in just a few days. I know we went over some of these techniques in our Skype sessions and I wanted to add that this intensive helped to really bring everything we've worked on together. It kinda feels like everything we did fit together after this weekend which was really fun to experience. The techniques especially helped me put the character into my body, Mitchell Gossett always speaks about "getting out my brain and into the body" and think this intensive helped get me beyond my mind, which has usually been a challenge for me. The five layers of the character were especially helpful in doing that and it helped me get right into character even if I hadn't been in it for a while and that technique is certainly something I will do with every scene I do from here on out. I love really digging deep into characters and this was just the seminar to help me do it!! I just wanted to let you know how much this intensive helped me, I learned SO much that will be useful for all my future work and that's hugely important to me going forward.
Thanks for your time and for putting so much effort (and love) into what you do, and us as students. It really makes a world of difference!
SEAN MICHAEL
Cathy,
I hope that you know how grateful I am for the kindness you've shown me! I can't say thank you enough for all you do. You are an amazing woman and mother, and I know that because I see how much love and care you have for every student that comes in an doubt of your studio. You are full of so much love, light, and strength and you are always inspiring others to find that within themselves. I am both in awe and inspired by how passionate you are to give children and young adults the tools to achieve their dreams. You have made such an impact on my life in such a short time as a teacher and as a person. I haven't had many adults in my life that I've looked up to, so your genuine care means more to me than you may know. I just want to say Thank you! Thank you for loving what you do. Thank you for pushing your students to believe in themselves. And thank you for being like a mom to every child and young adult that comes into your studio. I'm blessed to know you. <3

Many people ask me how Bryce got on "Walk the Prank" or in the movies he has coming out soon. I always tell them that there is no magic formula except he went to class at Cathyn's and took every class and seminar he could. He grew as an actor each time he was at the studio and was signed by both his Dallas and LA agents as a result of the seminars. He also got his LA manager from the seminars at Cathy's! We have the BEST Team thanks to Cathryn Sullivan's Acting for Film!!!
Thank you Cathy!
Nicole
Hi Cathryn,
I wanted to write to you to thank you so much for this weekend. My daughter, Elke Boucher-Depew, took your Film 2 class, and it was a life changing experience for her. She was so excited, inspired and obsessed with it. The energy of your studio and the emotions you are accessing from these kids completely blows me away.
I have a few questions. Is it ok for Elke to take Film 2 again? She said she feels like she could benefit from taking it again.
Thank you so, so much for everything you do for these kids!!!
Lona
Cathy, I had the best time today in class! Part of why I loved it so much, aside from your awesome direction and coaching, was your come-to-Jesus talk with us. Watching you with our kids, I know how absolutely dedicated and committed you are to making our little ones be the best that they can be and achieve their dreams. It never dawned on me that YOU feel like you fail if those you are teaching fail (or lack commitment). It honestly was very emotional for me to hear you be honest and hear your students practically beg you not to give up on them. I KNOW that you love your job! That's what makes us love you!
I told you that I started off wanting to come to the studio to help Sienna more with her dream. But, I realized today that I really do want to be there for me too! These last few weeks have been almost freeing for me. I know that sounds weird. But I love escaping into the scene and pretending to be someone other than the stuffy lawyer that I am. Thank you for that! I truly hope that you reconsider us adults and allow those that are committed to you and your passion stay
Thanks
Holly
Good evening:)
We wanted to thank you and your son for such an amazing weekend in Film 1 and Film 3!
Ariana loved it so much that she wanted to cry when she was leaving and did not want to leave! When she loves something so much it is hard for her to depart!!
Please share with your son that he was so professional, compassionate, and such an amazing teacher!!! He also was super funny!
This experience has and will shape Ariana's acting career forever! We have never experienced anything like it..he spent so much time on each student helping them to develop their character and really brought out each students emotions to allow them to become better actors!! You guys hit homeruns in our opinion!! Such a great business model!! I can go on and on about all of the other great things we liked about his teaching technique but...do want to keep you:)
Thanks again!
Yours truly
Loretta Reagor
Cathryn,
My hope and prayer is that you be abundantly blessed for all that you do for your students. It is with extreme and profound appreciation for your tutelage and care for your students that I was able to dream to be so honored to sign with Linda mccalister agency today.
I accept this extraordinary blessing with you by my side. Words cannot quite adequately convey my deepest thankfulness to you. Cathryn, I cherish you as a mentor and a friend.
With deepest gratitude,
Audrey
Cathryn,
I just wanted to fill you in and say THANK YOU! We came to L.A. this week for an agent meeting and some general meetings.
We went to Disney for a general yesterday. They loved him and wanted him to meet like 5 people in the office. They invited him to a producer session for a new Disney pilot. It was him and about 4 other boys.
One of the Disney guys told us "we love Cathyrn Sullivan, we get most of our kids from her"!
Your training and tough love along with seminars totally gave him the extra boost he needed. I fully believe without you we wouldn't be where we are. There were about 10 people in the room so he was thankful for having done seminars to help mimick that!
I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you for helping us accomplishing some of his goals.
Erika
Cathryn,
Bryce is having issues going back to acting class because it's not YOU. He misses you terribly. I'm serious when I say, "YOUR MASTER INTENSIVE CLASSES HAVE CHANGED HIS ACTING CAREER". Thank you
xoxo, Terry <3
Dear Mrs.Cathy,
Thank you for always having such amazing opportunities for me at your studio! I have had such great experiences and have made hundreds of friends out of it! You've let me grow in so many different ways! I just felt like you deserve this appreciation because sometimes your work can go unnoticed! I look forward to growing this year, being pushed out of my comfort zone, and kicking butt in my scenes! My goal is to try to be the leader in the class! Obviously it's gonna be hard and I'm going to fail sometimes but that is what helps motivate me. I know I haven't been in as many classes as I wanted to this year that's why I'm making it a goal to try and get in every intensive like Bryce did! Thank you for allowing your studio to be one of my homes.
~ Gillian Brooks <3
I know I'll see you tonight but meant to send this yesterday; I haven't attended seminar w Mr. Meltzer before and was quite impressed with his graciousness and kindness with the kids. From a parent's perspective, we can't hear behind the glass of course as we watch seminars and hope kids can convey seminar guests commentary. I feel privileged to be able to be a part of the seminar and was so impressed with his disposition towards the kids as well as his charitable advisement and patience and concern for their clarity in understanding his redirection. I realize you are quite particular about which guests you invite and we should expect such courtesy but with this and any industry, we can't always count on people to be so elegant. Mr. Meltzer rose above my expectations.
Sincerely,
Audrey M
Cathy,
Just a note to thank you for another fantastic seminar this weekend! Both Alex and Maren are always delighted to see Howard and really look forward to his visits! We are so appreciative of how kind, positive and encouraging he is with all of your students. His sessions are always fun, and it's great to see the kids highlight their comedy skills with his guidance and expertise. What an honor to continue working with this multiple Artios award-winner each summer!
And Jodi Angstreich was a wonderful addition to your roster of industry guests! I'm sorry we were unable to do her 'solo' session on Saturday, but loved having her as part of the panel on Sunday. She gave such helpful feedback and redirection, and we loved the insight she shared about the world of casting. What a treat to have two amazing casting professionals together on this panel! Both Alex and Maren really enjoyed working with her and hope you will have her back to the studio!
We so appreciate all the incredible opportunities you provide your students to learn from the very best in this business! You have blessed our family in numerous ways and we couldn't embark on this acting journey without you. Your generosity, support and enthusiasm are invaluable to us!
Blessings,
Laura
Cathryn,
I just wanted to send a big thank you for today! Thank you for not only the training and support that you give our kids but for providing this format where they can be challenged and put under pressure to perform. Since signing with Dee Ann last spring, Logan has had 3 movie auditions and they have all been taped. We haven’t had an actual in person audition yet but I feel like with each seminar, she is getting more and more prepared for when that time does come. I cannot believe how much confidence Logan has gained in the 2 years she has been at your studio. Even when I don’t really think she’s done that well, SHE feels like she’s a rockstar:) You seem to be everyone’s biggest cheerleader when they are up and I REALLY appreciate that.
So again, I know its such a long day for you and your staff (who we also LOVE) but thank you so much for offering such a safe place to learn, succeed, and even sometimes fail:)
I hope you enjoy a few days off after the madness of seminar!
XOXO

"Hi y'all!
Ready for summer to get started, so we can get going over there again!
So, Meghan has made it past a few audition rounds of High School Musical 4. Yay! When she was talking to Judy Taylor (Disney LA), she saw that Meghan has been training under Cathryn...well, she stated that was "fabulous to see!" And of course, Meg says, "Yes M'amm, Ms. Cathryn knows her stuff". And Judy said, "Oh yes, she does!"
So, just wanted to say THANK YOU and hope to be sending that she booked...we hope to see y'all this summer! "

"Thank you so much for being my coach! You provide such a solid foundation for an actor and you push us beyond our limits. I haven't found a single coach in L.A. who's pushed me as hard as you do. Almost every coach I've been to has let me get away with mediocre work and doesn't call me out if I ever slack off. I haven't taken classes in a while for that reason. Right now, I'm trying to find a coach I really mesh with, but I've found it to be quite difficult. Most places out here give you scenes from plays, which I don't mind every once in awhile; you, on the other hand -at your studio, I found some of the most exhilarating and challenging scenes from television and film (which is what we are auditioning for) I've ever had the chance to play around with. I think that is something that's very important; always ALWAYS delve into the characters that scare and challenge you. It makes you that much better when you go on to do the roles that are simpler. Another thing, that's a key factor in every amazing actor, is how much emphasis you out on LISTENING AND REACTING. I can't tell you how many times I've gotten complimented on being a really good listener and having a nice give and take in a scene. I could go on and on about this, as I feel I already have, but I'll end it with this; Actors! Take advantage of what you have at Cathryn's studio: a safe place you can fail, a sense of camaraderie, and an excellent place to workout your acting muscle".
~ Katie Sarife
We absolutely love your studio and appreciate your honest and direct feedback to Ella. It seems as though no one gives kids honest and direct feedback anymore and that doesn't get you anywhere, so we just love what you are doing and helping Ella grow.
Warm regards,
Janet
Kiera and I are having a blast out here in NOLA. We have filmed a couple of days so far with most film days in the upcoming 2 weeks.
What I want to impress upon you as a parent is gratitude for your wisdom as a coach in holding Kiera accountable as a young actress.
This is serious business and she's able to demonstrate professionalism because of your way in preparing young minds and spirits for the reality of this career. She would not be here without your contributions to her skills and knowledge. She has been on set being directed by and interacting with industry professionals like Mario Van Peebles, Lawrence Fishburn, Mark Wolper, Marc Toberoff, Malachi Kirby, Anika Rose,Rege-Jean Page, Dominic Burgess, Emayatzy Corinealdi, Ruth E. Carter and Dylan Kenin! Again I want to thank you for your hard work that you have done with Kiera for the last couple of years in preparation for an experience like this. I will keep you updated as we move forward.
Ken and Kiera
"I'm so thankful for you. You have completely changed my life by making me believe in a dream that I never thought would ever be possible for a small town kid.
I will forever be grateful for you. When I'm accepting my Oscar one day, you will be right there on the front row with me!"
Devin
Good morning Mrs Cathy!!!
Today I received a call from Dee Ann, to let me know she called Mitchell Gossett and finally after the Dream works seminar, he is willing to sign her.
I want to deeply thank you so much for believing in my little girl, for the love, the time and the training that you provide to her. For making your studio a place like home, for teaching them to love each other , to support each other. For inspiring them to work hard, to have discipline, to dream big, to be patient, to believe in themselves, to have confidence. for teaching them to stand up every time that they fall down.
Thank you for the extra time that you spend with them almost every class, and last but not least thank you for being yourself, authentic, honest, transparent, a person in which I can trust.
Elena
Cathryn,
I wanted to take a few minutes to send you a thank you! Thank you for working so hard to help make our kids dreams come true! I remember back in AC1, you said that it will take a good 4 - 5 years before a child is really ready. I remember that seeming like a lifetime. Now that we are starting our 4th year with you, I can see clearly that you were soooo right! I also have found that parents and students often think that they are ready a good 1 1/2 - 2 years before they really are. When I look back at old tapes and see the growth in my kids on the past 1 1/2 years it is AMAZING! It is light years of a difference.
Again, thank you for molding my kids into strong girls and not letting them get lazy or make excuses. They have learned life lessons, not just acting lessons. I can't wait to see where they will be in their growth in another 2 years of training with you!
Xoxo,
Amy
Hi Cathryn,
I just wanted to send a BIG...Thank You....for your acknowledgement and "fearful" compliment to Robert Anthony's performance as a " sociopath " last night As you, I was like WOW.....that was SCAAAAAREY and OBVIOUSLY some GREAT Acting, for it was a side of RAD I've certainly NEVER seen before!
With that being said, we're SO PROUD....how far Robert Anthony has came with his Acting and with his STRONG Determination and YOUR Heartfelt ENTHUSIASM for future Actors we know he's in the right place and we feel BLESSED to have placed him with YOU and your studio!
Robert Anthony ALWAYS....makes us PROUD....and you'll feel the same soon if you don't already! Robert Anthony has so much respect for you and says YOUR the BEST.... I must say Bobby and I agree.
Have a HAPPY.....MERRY CHRISTMAS
Take care My Friend

"Cathryn, I'm so happy and thankful y'all came last night -Demi wouldn't be where she is if it weren't for you and Jennifer and OMG did you see her face when she saw y'all?????
I didn't get a chance to tell you how pretty you looked in your beautiful dress -I love your style and how you dress to the hilt it reminded me of us going to see Cody on Dancing with the Stars (DWTS). I knew Demi wouldn't get a lot of time with anyone last night because of all the people there backstage but none of those people would be there if it weren't for you and Jennifer!!!! I love you sooo much!!!!! "

Logan Henderson was such a great teacher! You can tell how much he loves it. Logan and Cody Linley were fantastic together, such a power duo! So blessed to have been in their class!

I often get emails from talent representatives such as the one below from the Vice President of CESD, top LA agency, but had to share this ONE - #loveit #loveitmoreformystudent
Thank you!
Her work has gotten so much better in the last month !!!
Shes getting more grounded and im thrilled at the work youre doing to get her more real.
Shes got such a beauty that I know she can have a rewarding career if she learns to act without pushing – and you’ve made great gains with her.
Beautiful work on your part.

Cathy,
Just wanted to share with you – although I suspect you know it – but both kids I started working with right after our weekend are on their second test deal (Both are testing for different roles in a pilot). You train these kids so well and have such a great eye; this isn’t just kissing up. I really appreciate you giving me the opportunity to come out again.
Best,
Michael Hepburn
LA manager at Industry Entertainment
Cathy,
Thank you for hosting an amazing seminar and talent weekend . By the time I arrived at the airport , I was completely in awe of all that you and your whole group accomplished . That last group really tugged at all of my emotions . Nice work! Besides learning what queso is supposed to be, you have taught me and showed me the truest form of Southern hospitality, and I am eternally grateful for that. I look forward to working closely with you and your fabulous, talented and most importantly, big hearted peeps.. Now, I must collapse and get some rest . Until our next adventure.
Most Fondly,

Cathy,
You saying that I did a great job at the Premiere of "Carter High" is the best thing I could ever hear. Hearing this from you makes me a lot more confident in my performance. I really appreciate you coming out to support Mack and I when you didn't have to be there! I bet it's awesome for you to be able to see the impact you've had on two of your students. We went from performing scenes in class together like Crash, to being on the big screen together. We really appreciate you helping us with our craft! These pics are awesome by the way!
Robert Hayes
Cathy,
You gave me a dream and a career when I had nothing to dream about.

Cody,
Jude just booked the lead role in the short film you guys worked on!!
Thanks!!

Yes, we all hope that our children attend classes to get everything they need to have great auditions and get casted in big roles. But what maybe a lot of parents don't realize is that their kid is gaining so many skills that help them in other parts of life.
Jackson and some other students interviewed a CEO of a major company that was named by Forbes as top 30 under 30. The other kids stumbled along, stuttering, reading their questions, speaking very low, and made for a very difficult interview. Then came Jackson. He had diction, he was charismatic, and with Jackson, the CEO opened up and had a great interview, like they were old friends. I got an email from the CEO after the interview telling me how great Jackson is speaking in front of people of power. BAM! Acting skills are great for acting, but can be applied in so many other places.
When I start to doubt whether we can afford acting classes for a semester, or when we are going through a dry spell of auditions, one thing is for sure : Jackson will be in acting classes, because he is being prepared for the real world, acting and beyond. Thank you Cathy, Ben, and all of the aides who helped make today's big interview, a huge success... For Jackson anyway. :)
Just got back from Bogotá, and I was helping a passenger with the entertainment system during the flight. I happened to notice "Me and Earl" and "The Goldbergs" are both selections for the month of October on United Airlines! Your students are literally everywhere! So cool. We are proud for Tres to be associated with you and your amazing acting school! :)
Leslie
Cathy,
Thank you and your staff for such an awesome week with the AC3+ kids! Sienna had such a blast in class and preparing every afternoon at home for the next day. Her favorite part was being "on set." You can see in the playbacks that all the kids had such a great time!
Thanks again for your true dedication to our kids,
Holly Hernandez (aka Sienna Hernandez's mom)
Cathy
I want to thank you for showing me a part of myself that has been bottled up for 25 years. Your direction and coaching skills go unmatched... truly incredible. To be completely honest, I used to tell my Mom she was wasting her money because everytime I picked the girls up outside, it looked like last call at Chuckie Cheese. I was wrong. This is the best thing my sisters, and now I, have ever done for ourselves. I can't express in words how thankful I am.
With that being said, I think I have potential to do this.. as a career. Just like my sisters, I've always wanted to be the center of attention and I'm also an emotional wreck-- maybe I can put that on my resume. What do you think I should do from here? I'd love to keep training with you, but do you think the adult class or younger class would be right for me? I'm kind of at an awkward age with both, no? Do you think I have enough potential to get an agent and audition like my sisters? Anyways, just wanting your input. If you can help me escape from the corporate machine and I can live life doing something I'm passionate about, you will be the first I thank at the Oscars... Ok, Golden Globes.
Much love and Merry Christmas to you and your family!
Jayson

What a roller-coaster today has been. Ups and downs and all arounds...
I watched through the mirrored glass as Emma Lou did her thing for Mitchell and I saw his reaction. He leaned over the table so he could see Barbara on the end...and nodded at her. His face said a thousand words.
Today I feel humbled. I am so overwhelmed with appreciation for YOU! YOU gave her that scene. YOU knew it was perfect for her. YOU knew it would challenge her, but it was so "her" and she totally connected with it. YOU didn't play it safe with her. Frankly, you took a chance on it (some heavy dialogue) but YOU believed in her and I cannot tell you how much I appreciate YOU for that. YOU pushed her to do great things. YOU gave her an opportunity to shine and left the rest up to her.
She blew a line, but recovered so well that Mitchell wrote on her feedback sheet, "interesting things happened when you "forgot" a line." On set, actors drop lines all the time but they don't let it phase them. They click their fingers, choose a pick up point, stay in character and keep going.
So...thank you, thank you, thank you. You SOOOOOO know your kids. You know how to mitigate their weaknesses and capitalize on their strengths. You know how to push them just far enough to challenge them but to keep them motivated at the same time. You're separating the wheat from the chaff...and you know the difference. You're bold enough to call a crappy situation and tell it how it is and I love that about you.
Bottom line? Thank you for your investment in Emma Lou. She has a long way to go, but she's growing fast and it is in no small way attributable to your investment in her.
Seriously...this is not an obligatory thank you...but a heartfelt one.
--Shaun

Thank you so much for the wonderful meeting today. Mom and I were talking the whole way home about how blessed we are to have you as a teacher and role model for Grace.
You are such an inspiration and your passion for your work is contagious! I love that Grace gets to see how you use your God given talents to help others achieve their full potential and realize their dreams. The lessons these children learn from you will last a lifetime.
Have a great night!

"I wanted to thank you again for the WONDERFUL Parent Seminar on 'audition taping'. As always, the session was fun, full of fantastic information and immediately applicable. The handouts were outstanding and it was great to see the examples of great audition tapes that really get results. The content of the seminar was really helpful at every level -- from the parent just beginning to do their own tapings, to those that do a lot of tapes themselves already. There was something to be learned by everyone and I can't wait to put some of these new learnings into practice!
Your tireless commitment to your students, and to us parents, never ceases to amaze me! Parent education is so important in this business and you consistently go 'above and beyond' to make sure we understand each facet of the industry and how we can be a vital member of our childrens' support team.
The information you shared was truly invaluable in understanding the inner workings of this industry, and will undoubtedly benefit my children many times over. I will never miss another one"
Blessings,
Laura
I just wanted to say THANK YOU for the AWESOME self-taping class you offered for parents!!! I recently sent in the second tape for Campbell since the class and she got a call back – first one from a self tape!!!! :>))))))
The class was EXTREMELY helpful. I, and obviously others, noticed a HUGE difference in the quality of our tapes. Most importantly, I know you are making a HUGE difference in both Cameron and Campbell’s acting ability and we couldn’t be more grateful to you!!!!!
THANKS AGAIN!!!!!!
With sincere appreciation,
Angela
Dear Cathryn, I'm Judy McFarlin, Grayson McFarlin's mom. I had to let you know that I just watched the trailer to Hoovey....with your son Cody. What a story to be told!!!
From one mom to another I am so Proud of his work in this trailer, I can't imagine what the movie will be like, because the trailer grabbed my heart and soul.
You have done an EXCEPTIONAL JOB as his mother and it shows in your son!!! Mom's don't always get the recognition for what Good our son's do. Often times we are in the trenches, working diligently to plant good seeds; for our sons, for our families, friends, co-workers, communities, those stranger's that happen to be around us.
You have done just that! It radiates in your work, and translates in your son's work. The lives that will be touched by your good planting, your hard work, your trials, your guidance as a mom will be blessed ten fold. I thank you for planting those good seeds, for nurturing them and giving it your life. Because of what you have done so many people's lives will be touched and hopefully moved by Cody's work in Hoovey. People need this, the world needs this and because you have been the mom you have been to Cody his work will touch countless lives. This is part of God's plan. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart for all that you, Cody's mom have done. I sincerely appreciate all of your hard work in the trenches and all of the good seeds that you continue to plant.
Blessings,
Judy McFarlin
Good morning!
I just wanted to thank you for everything you've done to support, guide and love Lauren and all the kids that attend your school. You have created a wonderful place for these kids to do what they love best in an environment that is loving but pushes them to be the best that they can be. Lauren is so excited to now be attending full time and devote her time, energy and passion for what she wants the most. I'll support her in any way I can and sometimes I feel a little confused about the whole industry (don't worry I plan to take your workshops for me too!). I need an education myself and as we go through this process, I hope I can help Lauren too.
Just wanted to thank all the aides too. They are amazing and I love watching how they've grown up. They're so supportive and they show how much they care about the kids too. Your school is like a home to these kids and we are thrilled every time we walk through the front door.
As Lauren starts on her new journey, we know who has laid the groundwork for her and we so thank you for that! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family and we will see you in December!

I'VE been blessed with getting to work for and with so many amazing people. Cathy's been the main light guiding me since I was a kid. She's never led me astray. All props go to her!

One thing we know for sure is we want our girls training with you. We are very proud of the progress they are making too, and very well aware of who is helping them improve! Everyone notices their progress when we go out to LA during the summer, and we always let them know you are who they have been training with.

I just wanted to take a moment to tell you how incredibly awesome Stephen is. He worked so hard to make sure I was ready for taping yesterday and made sure that I didn't just look good, but great! He is an awesome representation of your business and his hard work and dedication just speaks volumes about you and your program. I am so blessed to be a student at your studio. God is doing a great work there. You should be proud of your aids and all the work you've put into your school. Thanks for letting me be tutored by the greats!

What people don't realize about you! One of the most compassionate and loving persons I have everrrrrr met in my life! You love your students as your own child. The self esteem you have built for kids is unspeakable. The confidence you have given Parker is somethign that will last a lifetime. I don't know his future, but I know you are a huge part. Feel proud. I love you more than anythin! I laugh bc years ago we were scared of you (a few moms in the hall get it) but you are so awesome and I love you enough to squeeze you.

I haven't talked to you in a while, but I used to come up to Texas every summer for your workshops. I haven't been able to come up to Dallas, and I really miss your classes! I'm from Florida, but I'm here in Los Angeles now, and I can't seem to find a coach that is as great as you. I was wondering if you have any trips planned for any workshops in LA?? If not, is there anyone here that you can recommend that teaches a style similar to yours?
Thanks, and hope to see you again soon!!

I was so excited for the good news. I'm working hard at trying to become a "real person." You've helped me grow SO much already, so I know if I stay in class that I'll be there before we know it! Thank you for taking the time to pour into me and really investing in me. I don't take any of this lightly. If there is anything I can ever do for you, just let me know. I'd be more than happy to help out in anyway that I can. I really appreciate everything that you've done for me and consider it an honor and privilege to be taught by you. Again, thank you. I'll make sure to sign up for those classes for sure! :)

"I was just at the seminar which was so informational. I think I've told you before all the years and money we wasted not knowing what we we're doing, so it's an honor to learn from you. I wish all the parents would wake up and take advantage."

"I feel like it's been forever since I've emailed you last. I've been back in Florida a year now and as much as it's been great being home, I have not been growing in acting like I was at your studio. Last night being the last straw when I had to help a coach explain what emotional recall was? I learned that in film 2 with you and these "master" students couldn't get it.
Florida is great, but I haven't had any experience with a coach like I've had when taking your classes and under your direction. After talking with my parents last night, we all agreed it would be better to go back to Dallas to study. You're a better mentor and acting coach in all categories plus I miss the intense drive and competition of being at the studio that helped make me better.
I'm not sure if I have to try out or something to come back or still be a masters student. But I'm more than willing to do so if that means studying with you again.
If you'll please have me back as a student, I promise you won't regret it/I am so incredibly motivated and disciplined now it's no joke I'm ready to make moves and work haha."

P.S. NO ONE and I mean NO ONE I've met with can take headshots like Terry, it's like the most impossible thing to get right here. Ugh #ActingInFLProbz"I just wanted to take a moment to say thanks for a couple of things.
First, the seminar was great. My son had a great time preparing for it and presenting his work. I really enjoyed Howard's opening presentation that included the parents. I felt his passion for the kids and the business. And I completely understood when he said "there is always a moment" when he is able to believe the actor is the character. It's the same sensation my team has when we are looking for the next hot product.
I also really appreciated during the opening meeting that you reminded the kids that each must take control of their respective careers. Quick story - In getting ready for yesterday's seminar, my son wanted to make sure he chose his outfit and hair style. Even when I insisted on tweaking his hair, he actually said "I really think it should be how I want it for the seminar. I know what I want." He has also said on more than one occasion "my career". After watching you talk yesterday, it finally hit me just how much of a positive impact you've had on these kids' lives. You have truly challenged them to find their passions, treat is seriously and go for it without any fear or hesitation. That is a truly amazing gift you have given these kids that will impact them in a positive way in all facets of their lives today and forever. And for that, I wanted to thank you. "

"First, I want to thank you for all you do for Mallory and all of your students! You really give your heart and soul into your classes and it shows!
You give your students so many amazing opportunities. You bring in the best agents local and in LA. The best coaches and you select the best aides. You even bring in Casting Directors and Managers for you student to get in front of (that is unheard of elsewhere). Mallory just came back from her first Pilot Season, it was an adventure!!!! I will say we would have never made it, nor would it have been as successful, if not for you and your guidance through your classes for students and also the classes you have for Parents!
Mallory, has been lucky enough to book a few jobs. On EVERY job, from her Short Film DIG, to the TV pilot Sober Companion, and each of her commercials. Every one of the directors talk to me about how great she is at taking direction, understanding her character, and following her cues. Each director has said her training really shows and that You have done an Amazing job! We totally agree "of course ;-)
We want to thank you so much for guiding Mallory,Mike & I into this crazy, wonderful, world of acting! We would be totally lost without you!!! You mean so much to our family, we love you!!!
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!"

"It was great to see you today. I have to admit something to you, ask for your forgiveness and help. A while back I decided that I didn't see myself as a "Disney" type actor. At the time I thought that you concentrated and produced a lot of Disney actors, so I went to another acting coach. What a HUGE mistake!! I still feel like Disney is just not me, but I realized what a great teacher you are and how much you had taught me. I miss your classes. Just listening to you today I learned so much. I am really serious about wanting to make a career of this. I am graduating from high school this summer (a year early) to free myself up to take advantage of any opportunities. Now I need the missing piece, YOU, a great coach. My mom put me on the wait list for your only remaining Master class of the summer. I was hoping you could find me a spot in a class. I promise to work my butt off for you! I feel like I just wasted that time, and I am ready to get back on track."

"You do more than groom stars, you teach a love of the craft and work ethic while loving your students through the many ups and downs in this business. Savannah (Jayde) and I will always hold you in the highest esteem and respect the passion you give to your own craft. Well done!!"
